The Department of Defense said Thursday it intends to move forward on plans to use active radio frequency identification (RFID) technology to support collaborative military coalition operations with 24 countries. The partner list was made final late last month. read more.
As complicated as technology can be, the reality is that the technology is the easy part. Getting people to work together to achieve a common goal is much more difficult than making the technology sing and dance. The most successful IT professionals not only master the technology, but the also master the ability to influence others when you don’t carry the same big stick as Wal-Mart to achieve their goals. Influencing others when they don’t work for the same organization and when there are both language and cultural barriers can me a real challenge.
